Meat gets bad faster in the top compartment, and fruits and vegetables lose their aroma on the bottom plate. To prevent this, you should enter your refrigerator with a system and orientate yourself to the different cold zones. This way, the food stays fresh and durable for longer. The different temperature zones in the refrigerator
The temperature in the refrigerator is different in each compartment. It drops from about eight degrees in the top compartment to about five degrees on the middle level. Temperatures of about two degrees prevail in the lowest compartment. These cold zones are created because the air in the refrigerator circulates. The cold air drops downwards.
In the fruit and vegetable compartments at the bottom, however, it is warmer again with eight to nine degrees. Because the glass plate above it keeps away not only the humidity but also the cold. These mild temperatures can also be found in the refrigerator door.
The top subject
In the top compartment, the warmest temperatures prevail in the refrigerator, with the exception of the refrigerator door, at around eight degrees. Therefore, you should store food here that does not need to be refrigerated very strongly. These include:
- Opened glasses
- Dressings and sauces such as mustard and ketchup
Due to the small temperature difference, you can alternatively place everything you store in the upper compartment in the refrigerator door.
The middle compartment
Dairy products belong to the middle refrigerator level at up to five degrees. If there is no room left in the top compartment, you can also place cheese on the middle palate. To make the cheese taste better, it is best to remove it from the fridge half an hour before eating. This allows the aroma to unfold optimally. If the bark is not suitable for consumption, you should cut it off just before eating. It protects the goods from moisture loss and spoiling.
It is also recommended to place fresh milk in this cold zone. Because at five degrees, milk stays here longer than in the refrigerator door at nine degrees. The middle compartment includes:
