5 Myths about Water

During the year, a person drinks from 1500 to 3000 glasses of water. Our health and life expectancy depends on the quality of this water. We are sure that we know everything about the water. And yet, there are many misconceptions in our ideas. and if you want to during healthy water then buy the best water purifiers which make most of the water healthy and drinkable

Myth #1: When boiling, harmful substances disappear from the water.

boiling water

Has it ever occurred to you to water flowers with boiled water? And try to imagine aquarium fish in boiled water!

By collecting water from a tap and boiling it, many people are sure that they drink clean water. Boiling, unfortunately, does not destroy all microbes, not to mention heavy metals and petroleum products. Therefore, to purify water, simple boiling is not enough. In addition, after boiling, useful salts of calcium and magnesium precipitate. Also, when boiling tap water, organochlorine compounds (chloroform) are formed. Excerpt and reports of the Research Institute named after A.N. Sysin of the Russian Academy of Medical Sciences – “reliable information on the epidemiology of cases of cancer of the bladder, colon and rectum, pancreas and brain associated with the use of chlorinated water containing chloroform is accumulated.” It is not customary to talk about this problem since there is no alternative to tap water for the masses yet. Not everyone can buy natural artesian water in stores.

Myth #2 – Filters Purify Water

water filter

Water filters are the most popular method of drinking water purification. Upon closer examination, it turns out that they do not provide the declared water quality.

When using filters based on reverse osmosis, water is desalted. With prolonged use of such water, the water-salt balance of the body is disturbed. A filter is an ideal place for bacteria to multiply. For the active reproduction of bacteria, a combination of two factors is enough: standing water and time. Unfortunately, this is what household filters offer us. Carbon filters are also popular. Indeed, coal can purify water, and this has been proven more than once. But using it in filters is not the best solution. Why? The point is in its structure: coal material is porous. And if you pass water through it once or twice, it will leave some of the harmful impurities just in these pores. But it is impossible to “wash” them or somehow clean them. Accordingly, the coal “sponge” will store many harmful substances sooner or later, and there will be no room for new ones. But the worst thing is not that such a filter stops working. Hazardous substances begin to fall from the filter into the water that passes through it. And the filter gives the opposite effect – it not only does not make the water cleaner, it pollutes it even more!

The problem is that no one can tell if the filter is working or has already stopped. Or maybe it has become just dangerous to health? Unfortunately, it will not be possible to check this. And another important feature that is associated with this. A person who uses filters for water believes that he thereby controls the quality of the water. He relaxes and thinks that the system is established; nothing more is required of him: everything possible has been done. Of course, this is not the case. No one controls the quality of the water that has passed through the filter. So, filtered water is not suitable for humans? This position is also wrong. Filters will remove chlorine from tap water. Accordingly, filtered water can be washed. But it would help if you did not drink it.

Myth No. 3 – Mineral water can not be drunk every day

Mineral water

Many people use medicinal water as ordinary drinking water, quenching thirst and using it in cooking. But therapeutic mineral waters should be used with caution, especially if they belong to the groups of medicinal-table and medicinal waters and contain a lot of table salt (NaCl). These salts are rich in the popular waters of Russia (Essentuki, Nagut and others). No wonder table salt is called white death, and then also in a glass.

You can drink without restrictions only if it is drinking table mineral water (mineralization up to 1000 mg / l), for example, Biovita. Whereas medical-table and therapeutic mineral water (from 1 to 20 g / l) is drunk to solve problems with digestion, gastrointestinal tract, metabolism (diabetes, gout, obesity), gastritis, ulcers, constipation, pancreatitis, cardiovascular and many other diseases. Mineral water is selected according to the mineral composition, individually, depending on the disease, and here it is indispensable.

Myth #4 – Silver Purifies Water

There is an opinion among people that silver has an antiseptic, bactericidal and anti-inflammatory effect. And although many of us are sure that “silver” water has a beneficial effect on our well-being, scientists and doctors have not confirmed this fact.

The main danger of such water is the ability to destroy the fragile intestinal microflora. Many do not consider it dangerous, and in vain: dysbacteriosis is a chronic disease that weakens the immune system and is very difficult to treat. Maybe your child is already suffering from a violation of the intestinal microflora? This may be true if he has certain symptoms. Infants have bad breath, vomiting and regurgitation, low rates of weight gain, anxiety, sleep disturbances. In older children, dysbacteriosis can be manifested by painful intestinal colic, decreased appetite, constipation. The worst thing is that the symptoms of dysbiosis are not always pronounced. Sometimes they are hidden, so it is simply impossible to notice violations if you are not an expert. One of the most dangerous subspecies of this disease is widespread dysbiosis. In this case, toxins are formed in the intestine, which is not working correctly, and with the blood flow, they are carried throughout the body, slowly poisoning it. Over time, if dysbacteriosis is not treated, it affects the pancreas and enzyme deficiency begins. In addition, an unhealthy intestine is not able to digest all incoming food, part of it remains undigested and irritates the gastrointestinal tract, causing allergic reactions.

Myth #5 – Spring water is useful and safe

For many years, spring water was considered the purest and most useful, and some of the sources were attributed miraculous properties.

It’s all so… But, unfortunately, the sanitary condition of the springs is in a deplorable situation and requires cleaning and arrangement. Most of the springs are exposed to the negative impact of human activity and are polluted by industrial wastewater. Before using water from the spring, it is desirable to obtain an analysis of its chemical composition. After all, excess or lack of essential trace elements in water can affect your health. Currently, doctors recognize that long-term use for drinking “soft” water (containing insufficient amounts of calcium and magnesium) causes a high incidence of cardiovascular diseases, and “hard” (highly mineralized) water contributes to the occurrence of urolithiasis. According to sanitary and epidemiological standards, the optimal content of trace elements useful for health in drinking water is as follows: total mineralization – up to 1000 mg / l; calcium – 80-200 mg / l, magnesium – 50 -150 mg / l. Water is life! Healthy water – healthy life!
